Compass Equine Learning offers ground-based, non-riding Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) and Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) experiences centered on the power of connection and relationship with horses. Healing and growth happen through authentic interactions, as horses respond to us emotionally, energetically, and physically in the present moment.

Horses are highly attuned to human emotions and naturally invite us to become more aware of what we are feeling. They encourage congruence between our thoughts, emotions, and body, offering honest, non-judgmental feedback. Through this process, clients begin to recognize the connection between mind, body, and emotions—often becoming more aware of breath, physical sensations, and internal responses.

These experiences create opportunities to develop new ways of relating to ourselves and others, while building practical skills that can be carried into everyday life.

Our work is guided by the philosophies of the HERD Institute, founded by Dr. Veronica Lac, and is grounded in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. Compass Equine Learning is committed to providing meaningful experiences where individuals can explore, grow, and reconnect—both with themselves and the world around them.

How we are partnering

Reclaiming Hope is raising funds to create scholarships for individual and group sessions. These sessions  offer ground-based, non-riding Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) and Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) experiences centered on the power of connection and relationship with horses. Healing and growth happen through authentic interactions, as horses respond to us emotionally, energetically, and physically in the present moment.
